Obituary of Gloria K. Larrick

Catherine Gloria Kelley Larrick, 92, of Levittown, passed away on Monday, January 30th, 2017. "Kel" as she was affectionally called by her late husband, Jack, was born in Bellmore, where she and Jack grew up. Gloria said that his fate was sealed when they were classmates in second grade. She knew then that they were destined to be together. They tied the knot in 1948 and became one of the pioneers of Levittown. Together they raised six children; Patricia, of Charlotte NC with husband Larry and their four children Michael, Tamara, Adam, and Daniel, four grandsons Liam, Maddux, Giovanni, and Connor. Michael of Berkeley CA with Wife Vickie, and their two children Naomi and Andrea. Kevin of San Diego with wife Nanci, and their two children Brian and Kelly. Kathleen Pullan and husband Brian, with their three children Brittney, Brendan, and Patrick. Susan and her two children Eamonn and Courtney. The late Nancy Kel and Jack owned and operated a Baskin Robins in North Massapequa and Studio Six Photo Lab in Merrick. Gloria was an avid historical novel reader and well known at the Levittown Public Library. She liked showing off her knowledge by watching Jeopardy each night. On most summer days, you could find her at Bluegrass Lane Pool. Gloria had the unique Irish ability of storytelling. Her mind was extremely sharp and had a great aptitude for detail. Jack and Kel enjoyed traveling and experiencing the local fare. Their favorite trips included mini beach destinations. Both she and Jack had outgoing personalities. Their exploring gave her material for her Irish tales. Many spring afternoons you would find her cheering on her Grandchildren Eamonn and Courtney of Bayville. She was a well-known Falcon fan at the baseball and lacrosse games. She tailgated at the Louisville Cardinals and it became one of her new-found passions. Here's to you Kel, Mommie, Grandma and Friend. May Heaven be filled with ever flowing martinis and unlimited ice cream.
