Obituary of Anthony C. Argila

Anthony C. (Tony) Argila, 86, Island Park, New York, passed away on September 2, 2018.

Funeral service will be held at St. Barnabus on September 6, 2018 at 9:45 am. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Cemetary in Farmingdale, New York. Visiation will be held at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc. on 9/5/2018 from 3:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Shiva will be observed at the home of Julie and Steve Weissman on September 6, 2018 from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. (195 Pinelynn Road, Glen Rock, NJ).

Anthony was born in New York, New York to Ann Piazza and Carl Argila on June 22, 1932. He earned his GED while he served for four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He developed photography and film skills while serving in the USAF and continued in that field ultimately owning Aargil Video, Inc., a film/video transfer and duplication company. He was active in the Island Park American Legion for many years. He loved to dance and would put on a show whenever given the opportunity.

Anthony was married to Violet Huerta on May 15, 1954 and remained married until her death on November 7, 2006. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Julie-Anne and Steven Weissman; his son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Francine Argila; his son Michael Argila; his grandchildren Ariel Goldberg (and husband Jeffrey), Jaclyn Weissman (and fiancé Zach Grauman), Anthony George Argila, Kathleen Faith Argila;  his great-grandaughter Sydney Violet Goldberg; his brothers Carl Argila, Raymond (and wife Wanda) Argila; his sisters Vivian (and husband Marty) Bierman; Sandra Justus (and partner John Cucchiarella; his girlfriend and incredible partner for the last five years Gloria Gonzalez.

Anthony is also survived by nieces and nephews, too numerous to name. He was a generous, loving man who touched the lives of many people. He will be greatly missed.
