Obituary of Warren C. Hiller

Warren C. Hiller, 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 13, 1955, Warren was a lifelong resident of Bellmore and a graduate of Wellington C Mepham High School. He attended Adelphi University in Garden City where he majored in philosophy. While in college he acquired his pilots’ license and trained in aerobatics.

After college he worked for United Airlines and eventually started his own mortgage company, Best Investment, which was based in Queens.

Following the world’s longest engagement, Warren wed the love of his life, Diane, in an intimate ceremony on July 3, 2013 in Nenana Alaska .

He was a music lover whose varied tastes ran from rock and roll to classical and jazz and he enjoyed nature and the great outdoors. He loved canoeing, camping and tried his hand at windsurfing and sailing. He was an avid cyclist.

With his gentle sense of humor, keen intellect and kindness, he touched many lives and will be sorely missed by all.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Beljan, his brother Robert Hiller (Ginny), nieces and nephews Kathleen (Pete) Fisher, Darlene (Anthony) Matulich, Robert (Laura) Hiller, John (Val) Hiller, Kyle Murphy, Tony Beljan, Vinny Beljan and great nieces and nephews Noelle, Emma and Kate Fisher, Anthony, Christopher and Nicholas Matulich and Aubrey Beljan.

Warren had a passion for animals and in better days spent many hours volunteering at Little Shelter, an animal rescue and adoption center located in Huntington. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Little Shelter, 33 Warner Road, Huntington, New York 11743.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13th from 2-4pm and 7-9:30pm and Thursday, February 14th from 10:30-11:30am at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc. 302 S. Bedford Ave. Bellmore, NY 11710.

Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 13th at 8pm.
