Obituary of Elizabeth Frances Woodford

Elizabeth Frances Woodford, 91, passed away August 4, 2019.  She was born October 1, 1927 in the Bronx, New York to the late Louis and Margaret (Meehan) Haiss.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Woodford; son, Michael Woodford; and brother, Edward Haiss.

Mrs. Woodford came to Sarasota from Merrick, New York and was Roman Catholic.  She worked for the Brooklyn Union Gas Company in the clerical department.  Following retirement, she worked for the Bellmore-Merrick School District for another 20 years.  She enjoyed reading, table games and playing with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Brown and her husband Jim of Lakewood Ranch; grandchildren, Michael Brown and his wife Amy, Christopher Brown and his wife Tanya, Sean Brown, Katelyn Reyes and her husband Anthony, Kerrin Noce and her husband Sean, Jamie Woodford, Jessica Normandin and her husband Mike, Tara Woodford; and great grandchildren, Ashleigh and Zoe Brown, Heidi and Gillian Brown, and Lilly and Jack Noce.

Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 8/14 at 9:45am at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 2320 Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY 11710. She will be interred next to her husband in Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York
