Obituary of John R. Carr

John R.Carr died on April 1, 2020 at A. Holly Patterson Extended Care Facility, Uniondale , New York Born in Troy , New York , on May 23, 1933, he lived the majority of his life in Bellmore. After graduation from Mepham High School in 1951, John enlisted in the United States Army and served his country. After completion, came back to Belllmore and finished Professional Education in New York City in the field of Broadcasting and Television. While at New York Sports Network , Channel ll, he worked at many important Events. With his talent in Camera, he covered the Bing Crosby Golf Classic in Florida as well as the Martin Luther King Jr. Rally in New York City. The knowledge and sharing of historical events were remarkable. His sense of Humor added to the flavor. As told to many, he will be greatly missed-- but most of all but his family. Due to the Covid Pandemic, the celebration will be held at a later date and burial at the National Cemetery in Long Island He is survived by 2 sisters, 3 cousins, 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and many grand nieces and nephews as well as one great grand nephew.
