Obituary of Bernadette E. Mundy

A mask is required in the building. Thank you for your understanding. Bernadette Elizabeth Mundy 06/20/2020 In loving memory of Bernadette E. Mundy, 88, born in Ozone Park, NY. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She met and married Joseph T. Mundy and moved to Bellmore, NY. Bernadette was pre-deceased by her husband, Joe (1997) and was the youngest and last survivor of 9 children born to Caroline and Thomas McBride. Bernadette, the family matriarch, is survived by her 6 sons and their spouses: Joseph (Tom), Peter (Sue), Patrick (Nina), Gerard (Jennie), Robert (Elaine) John (Christine). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Kevin, Brian, Jeffrey, Joseph, Sean, Richard, John, Matthew, Jack, Elizabeth, Joey, Catherine, Andrew, Caitlin and 5 great-grandchildren: Braedan, Lilly, Colin, Maeve, Clare. She was the heart and soul of her family and instilled the core values of faith, compassion, integrity, and humility into her children and grandchildren. Her passions in life where her family, her faith in God, and Sunday dinners held virtually every week until her death. Since moving to Bellmore, NY in 1958, Bernadette was a life-long active parishioner and volunteer at St. Barnabas R.C. Church. Viewing will take place at Clair S. Bartholomew and Son Funeral Home in Bellmore, NY on Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 2-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Barnabas R.C. Church on Friday, June 26 at 9:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to The Sisters of Charity of Halifax, 2320 Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY 11755 on her behalf.
