Obituary of John Vecchio

Vecchio, John, 81, of Bellmore, on October 29, 2020. Devoted husband of Connie. Cherished father of Gail Agostinacchio (Michael), Marie-Ann Galeotafiore (Louie) and Carmela Tufano (Anthony). Loving grandfather of Gianni Agostinacchio, Danielle Galeotafiore, Joseph Agostinachio, Anthony Galeotafiore, Sabrina Galeotafiore, Nicolette Agostinacchio, Anthony Tufano and Joseph Tufano Dear brother of Frances Pisano. John was a loving, warm, optimistic, generous, hardworking, devoted husband, father, papa, brother, and friend. He loved to garden, fish, hunt, Upstate and his family. He will be best known for making everyone laugh and feel good about themselves. John was the definition of the American Dream. He was a talented hairstylist and successful salon owner. He was responsible for making people feel beautiful every day. He loved what he did and never truly retired because he never considered it working. He was a friend and confidant to many, and we were fortunate to have him in our lives. He was quick with a joke and story to tell. He lived life to the fullest. He battled cancer with strength, dignity, humor, and optimism. Even in his final days he ensured his beloved family felt his love, humor and reassurance that he will always be with us. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 3 from 3-7pm at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 So. Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY. A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 2320 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY. Burial will be in St. Charles Cemetery/Resurrection, Farmingdale on Wednesday, November 4 at 11:45 am.
