Obituary of Concetta Romeo

Due to the current New York State restrictions in place, the funeral home has a limited capacity of 50% for visitors. Please be aware that if the family has reached visitor capacity, family & friends who wish to visit may be requested to wait until the chapel has space to accommodate more visitors. Masks are required at all times. This weekend, the Romeo family said goodbye to a legend, our Queen. Words are not enough to honor how incredible this woman was. She instilled in us all the qualities that have made us who we are. She taught us to forgive quickly, and that there is little worth staying angry over, especially with the ones you love. And she loved so many. Anyone who entered a Romeo house knew that the moment you stepped foot in that door you became family. She loved and cared for all her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and the countless more who called her mom or grandma, even when they weren’t blood. She taught us to laugh and be positive even in the face of hurt and stress. To work hard and save wisely, but also give generously of your time, money, and love. She was a tough lady, not to be messed with. She stood up for what she believed in and fought fiercely for those she loved. And she made the best meatballs you ever tasted. While we are heartbroken, we are grateful to have had a life full of memories with her. We will all strive to honor her life by pouring out the love and generosity that she poured out on all of us. A legend and remarkable woman. Funeral Mass will stream live on Thursday, March 18th starting at 10am: https://stbarnabasny.org/
