Obituary of Elizabeth Alford

Graciela Elizabeth Alford nee Contreras of North Bellmore passed away peacefully on December 30th with her loving family by her side. Born in Bogota, Colombia to her predeceased parents, Alberto and Graciela, Elizabeth spent her childhood years around the world and her teenage years in Woodside, Queens before settling in North Bellmore, New York. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gustavo. Devoted mother of Martha Iovane (Paul), Roberto (Maya), and Jaime (Melissa). Proud Abuela of Zachary, Christian, Emalee, and Jacob. Dear sister of George (Kathy) and the late Derek. Cherished sister-in-law of Enrique (Vicky), Julia Forero (Jorge), Ricardo (Gloria), Bernardo (Beatriz Eugenia), the late Carlos (Mercedes) and the late Fernando (the late Isabel). She is survived by 18 Nieces and Nephews and their families Elizabeth was a nurturing woman, who dedicated her life to taking care of those around her in many ways including a home cooked meal, a heart-to-heart conversation, or through her work with Girl Scouts, Hispanic Counseling Center, Corazon a Corazon and St. Barnabas. She will be remembered fondly by all her family and trusted friends for her unwavering strength, love, and faith!
