Obituary of Salvatore A. DeRise

Salvatore was born October 19, 1933 to Anne and Alexander DeRise in Brooklyn, NY. He was a proud US Army Veteran of the 11th Airborn Division and was also a member of the American Legion. He was the loving husband of the late Bridget Marie DeRise and was happily married for many years. Beloved father of Joanne Rosina, William (Roseanne) DeRise and the late Salvatore DeRise Jr. Devoted grandfather of Joseph, Krista, Anthony (Lauren) and Diana (Lawrence). Caring great grandfather of Lawrence Jr., Hannah, Olivia, and Josiah which he adored. Cherished and loving brother of Raymond (Josephine), Richard (Alicia), and Arthur (Heleana). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Sal was a wonderful dancer who also enjoyed music, golfing, horse races and any social gatherings, but he especially loved to spend time with his family and friends. He had a kind heart and always had a wonderful smile on his face. He is loved deeply by many family and friends and will be missed immensely. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, September 5 from 4-8pm at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 So. Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY. A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 2320 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery/Resurrection, Farmingdale.
