Obituary of Robert H. Barnett Jr.

Robert H. “Bobby” Barnett Jr, 60, of Freeport New York passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 3. Bobby was born on August 28, 1963 to parents Robert H. Barnett Sr and Geraldine R. Cleet of Bellmore NY. He graduated from Mepham High School in 1982 and went on to explore a variety of careers within management and maintenance that allowed him share his creativity with others and build lasting relationships. Bobby was a generous, compassionate, and unique soul who will be missed by many. Widowed by both spouses (Gina Fariello d. 2003 & Richard Sagehorn d. 2019) and predeceased by his loving parents, sister Linda, and cousin Debbie, Bobby is survived by his two heartbroken children, Salina and Blake (Angela), niece Jessica Sagehorn, step-mother Iris Barnett, aunts Pamela Barnett-Caputo and Mabel Stratton, and countless cousins. Bobby was a well known and beloved member of the Freeport community for over 20 years with an ever-growing network of chosen family. Bobby most especially loved his two rescue cats Boo and Mila, his friends Kitty, Loretta, and Patti, nightly sunsets at Steve & Claire’s, texting his “adopted grandchildren” (Collin, Avary, and Zach), traveling, and eating (especially if Rich or Ivan were cooking). In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made in Bobby’s name to the Last Hope Animal Rescue or All About Cats cat rescue. It is our hope that through your donations, what died with Bobby will not stay dead.
