Lunden, Edward J., 73, of Merrick, on September 12th. Devoted husband of Jane for 52 years. Caring father of Scott (Dianne) and Karen Boyd (Bryan). Cherished grandpa of Bryanna, Christopher, Abigail and William. Dear brother of Susan Beyersdorf (Donald) and the late Francis “Jerry” Lunden and Maura Butler. Also survived by loving nieces and nephews. Proud United States Navy Veteran. Retired Nassau County Police Officer of 24 years. Past President of the Nassau Police Post 1050, Trustee of Headquarters 1, Delegate of Headquarters 1, Treasurer of the American Legion, American Legion Post Commander, Past President of the Fraternal Order of Police, Nassau County Police Department Color Guard, Association of Retired Police Officer, PBA Sergeant of Arms, Holy Name Society, Emerald Society, Steuben Association and Columbia Police Association. Visitation will be Thursday, September 15 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 So. Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY. A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 am on Friday, September 16, 2022 at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 2320 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY. Burial to follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
