Obituary of Peter Robert Sterling

Peter Robert Sterling, beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on November 30, 2023, at the age of 58. Peter was born on March 2, 1965, at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. Peter graduated from Carey High School in Garden City South. Peter had a passion for sports from a young age. He excelled in various athletic activities, including swimming, tennis, basketball, and lacrosse. As he grew older, he also developed a love for golf and embraced the competitive nature of the game. Peter was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pietro and Antoinette Viterise, as well as his uncle Sebastian Viterise, who passed away in 2003 and Anthony Viterise that passed November 30, 2023. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends, including his loving wife Kathleen Sterling, daughter Bella Sterling, mother Maria Viterise, and brother David (Gail) Sterling. Additionally, Peter leaves behind his stepchildren Kobe, Grace, and Liam, as well as his niece and nephew, Zackary and Melanie. Peter's presence will forever be remembered and cherished by those who knew and loved him. His dedication to his family, his competitive spirit, and his love for sports have left an indelible mark on their hearts. May he rest in eternal peace. Visitation will be on Friday, December 15th, from 4-7pm at C.S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 S. Bedford Ave., Bellmore. Mass of Christian burial, 10:30am, Saturday, December 16th, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 39 N. Carll Ave., Babylon. Burial to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale.
