Obituary of Michael James McIntyre

Michael James McIntyre, Sr. passed away on July 2, 2015 surrounded in love by his family. Michael is survived by his wife and best friend of 33 years, Janice; his son, Michael Jr., and his wife, Heather; his daughter, Kathryn, and her boyfriend, David Tramontozzi; his adoring granddaughter, Alyssa McIntyre; and his loving mother, Margaret (Glendenning) McIntyre. Michael was blessed with a family who loved and adored him greatly, including his five sisters Maureen McIntyre, Kathleen Earl and her husband Raymond, Eileen McIntyre and her companion Michael Heaton, Colleen Marvits and her husband Tom, and Doreen Weeks and her husband Kevin; his mother-in-law, Ann Moore; his five sisters-in-law Diane Koska and her husband Ed, Maureen DiMaggio and her husband Gerry, Lorraine Andrews and her husband Larry, Marilyn Kress and her husband Marc, and Tricia Moore; many nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Benjamin "Jim" McIntyre. Michael was born in Queens, N.Y., and raised in Woodhaven, where he lived until moving to Bellmore in 1993. A devoted husband, father, and family man, Michael was hardworking and giving. His sense of humor brought laughter to everyone he knew. Michael's passions included cars, from the time he began work at a gas station at the age of 15 through his successful career as a high performance engine builder; music, enjoying live concerts and playing the guitar; reading, especially books about history and music; and travel with his wife and family, especially to the beach. Michael will be missed immeasurably and always remembered as the funny, loving, humble, and selfless man he was.
