Obituary of Carl DePasquale

Carl Richard DePasquale, Jr., age 50, of Levittown, died peacefully on January 13, 2018 surrounded by his family after a seven year battle with cancer.

Carl was born on May 12, 1968 and was the youngest child of Carl & Jean DePasquale, Sr.  He grew up in Bellmore and graduated from John F. Kennedy High in 1986 and graduated with a history degree from SUNY-Albany in 1990.  He was an active basketball player in junior high and  high school and had a love of golf with a standing tee time at Swan Lake Golf Club every Saturday morning.

Carl was baptized at Saint Mary’s  in Brooklyn NY and had first communion and confirmed at St. Barnabas in Bellmore NY.

Carl owned his own mortgage serving company, US Capital, for over 20 years and previous to that he was in the mortgage business with his father.

Carl was married to Carla Nicholas at the Carltun in Eisenhower Park in 2012.  He had met his future wife at his company through his Dad who overheard Carla applying for a job at a retail location near the company office in 2001.   Carl’s dad was so impressed with Carla that he hired her on the spot for a receptionist position.  Though she left the firm, Carl & Carla kept in touch and eventually marrying.

Carl’s highest priority was always his marriage to Carla and his family. His favorite holiday was Christmas and he looked forward to Christmas Eve dinner every year with his family. He also enjoyed summer BBQs.

In addition to golfing, Carl’s dad passed on a love of the sports, with Carl always rooting for the Yankees and the North Carolina Tarheels basketball team. Carl was an avid music listener with his favorite band being The Who.

Preceded in death by his father Carl Sr.,  Carl is survived by his wife Carla, his mother Jean DePasquale, his brother, Joseph DePasquale his sister-in-law,  Terri, and their children Samantha & Amanda. Also survived by many loving family members and friends.

Flowers can be sent to the funeral home or donations can be made in memory of Carl to Memorial Sloan Kettering.
