*At this time, the CDC requires those who are not vaccinated to wear a mask while you are inside the funeral home. For those individuals who are fully vaccinated, masks are not required but are still recommended. Please be patient with us as we work to accommodate everyone safely. Thank you for understanding.* Ann Marie Mahon, Aunt Annie or AA to all, was born on January 7, 1941 and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on July 30, 2021. She is the loving daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Feeney) Mahon. Caring sister of Patricia (Jack) Campbell, Margaret "Margie" Olson, and the late Rose (Bill) Connell. Cherished aunt of Susan, Kathi, Billy, Stephen, Nancy, Chris, Donald, Jim, Tim, Coleen, MariPat, Dan, John, and the late Maureen and Linda. Beloved great aunt of dozens. AA loved her Irish heritage, and her life is a reflection of the Irish Claddagh symbol – like the Claddagh, Aunt Annie was filled with Love, Loyalty, and Friendship. LOVE. She had the deepest love of family, food, and a good laugh. She loved a glass of red wine and shopping on QVC. She loved describing her “delicious” meals. She loved going on vacation and spending time with family. She loved spoiling everyone with gifts and reading a great romance novel. LOYALTY. She was loyal to her faith, attending daily mass and volunteering for every church card party where someone needed a bow made. She was loyal to her career, working for 50 years – her entire career – at New York Life. She was loyal to anyone who ever helped her out, as shown by the fact that she was the greatest tipper around. FRIENDSHIP. AA never left a room or a party without new friends. She became great friends with other people’s friends. She spent hours daily on the phone with all of her friends. You always got a busy signal when you tried to call because she was forever talking to her friends. She was friends with people she met 75 years ago and made friends this past year. There was nobody better than AA. She was deeply loved and loved deeply. Her loyalty was known by all. And her kind friendship with everyone she met made her the world’s favorite aunt. In AA’s honor and memory, the family asks you to show others love, loyalty and friendship. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, August 3 from 3-7pm at Clair S. Bartholomew & Son, Inc., 302 So. Bedford Ave., Bellmore, NY. A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate her life will be held 10:00 am on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 2320 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY. Burial to follow at St. Charles Cemetery/Resurrection, Farmingdale.
