Obituary of Maria De Francisci

Thank you for understanding.* Maria De Francisci, beloved wife and mother and grandmother She was a brilliant scientist who graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Barnard College, received her Masters and Doctorate abd degree in Neuroanatomy from Columbia University at which time she did advanced research in brain function. She met the love of her life, Ignatius De Francisci and they married and created a wonderful happy family. She later became a Psychiatric Social Worker and worked for many years at Long Island Jewish Hospital. She developed methods of Psychiatric Rehabilitation that are still in use across the world. Maria loved art, gardens and her family. With her husband Jig she traveled the world and enjoyed seeing the sights and meeting new people. She lived a full life and will be missed.
