Obituary of Mary Hope

Thank you for understanding.* Hope – Mary C. of Freeport, NY and formerly of Bellmore, NY passed away on October 8, 2021 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Bernard Hope. Loving mother of the late William (Caroline), the late Kathleen (John), Janet, James (Pamela), and Andrew (Debra). Cherished grandmother of Jaclyn Lowe (Harri), Brittany Skuza (Brian), Christopher (Kelly), Benjamin, Emerson, Jared (Fran), and Sierra Mastrantonio (Adam). Proud great-grandmother of Nicholas, soon to be great-granddaughter little girl Lowe, and soon to be great-grandson little boy Hope. She also was the beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 12, 1926 to her late parents Mary and James Morrissey and was predeceased by her brother James, and sisters Katherine, Helen, and Adelaide. She worked as the Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools for the Merrick and Freeport school districts. She will be reposing at C. S. Bartholomew Funeral Home, 302 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY. Visitation will be on Tuesday October 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday October 13 at 10 AM at St. Barnabas R.C. Church, 2320 Bedford Avenue, Bellmore, NY with burial to follow at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
