Ed was a student of mine in the RIO school NAS Glynco, in Brunswick, GA... Ed was always great, totally fit, and as hard as nails. He ran marathons and hunted bears in Canada. I am older, can't walk a block. but I am still alive and an ornery SOB.
Please email me what you know about his passing and I will pass it on to dozens of his internet friends.

As a TBS 5-68 classmate of Ed I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all of Ed's family during this sorrowful time for all of us. We worked together on our TBS reunions and getting Memorial Bricks for our Classmates at the Museum at Quantico and it was always a pleasure as well as a lot of fun to interact with him. No task was to big or small for him to handle and he was truly one of the backbones of our Class.
He exemplified being a Marine and I cannot think of any higher tribute I might offer of him.
Sleep well Ed, and angels sing thee to thy rest.

Ed was a hoot! He had a quick wit, and he wasn't shy about using it. Many of us enjoyed his humor and banter on Facebook. He was a Marine who loved to fly, and he never lost his zest for life. Semper Fi, Buddy. Rest in peace.

I was a classmate of Ed's at TBS. His sense of humor and the example he set served all of his shipmates well. I will miss his comments on Facebook and our infrequent conversations.

What a great day,..the four of us rode our Harleys in the Hampton Bays Parade that day. Phil would've said, "Rita, Do you see what these kids are up to now?"

The Corps, The Corps, The Corps. General MacArthur had it right except for the Service element. But for the grace of God Ed's two dips in the Gulf of Tonkin during the Viet Nam conflict saved him for many more decades camaraderie with family and, by extension, his band of brothers in military uniform of which I am proud to be counted, going way back to uniforms at St. Barnabas Elementary and the halcyon days of BSA Troop 580. Ed was one-of-a-kind. and to eulogize him we can barely scratch the surface. Earthly bounds broken he now soars without A-4, F-14/18 or glider. Perhaps an Archangel or Six-winged Seraph has him OJT beyond the heavens in which he was so proficient. Farewell, my old friend....
